Hope last week-end was a good one for you and you
got to celebrate Memorial Day in some good way.
I went to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial traveling
'Wall That Heals' display since it was very close
by to me. Quite impressive, at least to me since
I served during that time period. Just too bad
there has to be any wars at all. Everyone suffers
to some degree.
But I also has good times and hope you did as well.
I've a favor to ask. If you would like to continue
receiving this Newsletter, please re-submit your

I'm getting ready to update the website itself and
this list is part of that renewal process. I hate to
ask this of you all, but it's necessary for me to
better serve you if I get everything under a more
'controled' mess, so to speak. I'm at a point where
being more organized is a 'must'.
After July 1st, this current list will no longer exist.
Without your 'new' confirmation to stick around,
you won't be contacted after that date, but you'll
be good until then.
I'm not going to bribe you with some junky freebie
gift, as I don't see that as being necessary and only

Know The Rules For Affiliate Marketing

Yes, there are some rules you need to be aware of in the world of
Affiliate Marketing.
You have your website or blog all set up and ready to go. You have
chosen the niche market that you want to promote and make money
off of. Now, you just need links to start making money with.
Promoting other peoples services and products is not all that hard
to do. However, you will find that with all of the many companies
that offer affiliate programs, and referral options, they all have
their own rules that you must follow.
Affiliate marketing is pretty easy to follow, that is unless you have
many different programs that you are a part of. When you start
getting so many that you cannot remember the rules, or the guidelines
that you have to follow, you could end up with some real problems.
This is because the rules for affiliate programs are as different as
the companies. Each company is allowed to make their own rules,
even though you may find many similarities. That does not mean that
they are copying one another, or cloning their affiliate program,
it just means that they may have the same rules.
But don't get fooled, as those marketing rules can be very different.
They can range from not mentioning the brand names that they sell
anywhere on your website, to not having that particular market in
your website URL (domain name). Because they are so very different
for each program and company that you promote, you are going to
have to be sure that you read each one well and make sure that you understand it fully. If you all ready have your URL for your website,
you may not be able to participate in some of the affiliate programs.
This is because you will not meet the requirements for their rules.
Another rule that you may run across is the page rank rule. Some of
the companies that will allow you to promote their services or products
will not want you to have a higher page rank than they do. Nor will
they allow you to have a website that is higher in the search engine
rankings. The companies that have this rule in place for their affiliate
marketing programs feel if your website were higher than theirs for the product that they are selling, that it would hurt their business.
And, it just might. They would rather have the straight sales any day,
than the commissioned sales. Who wouldn’t?
Keeping a spreadsheet or some type of record of all the affiliate
marketing programs that you are a part of and their rules is a great
idea. Just like how you need to keep track of all your affiliate links, login information, any sales commisions and expenses. This way you
are never confused and know just where you stand with every program.
This is the best thing that you can do for your affiliate marketing business. Not only that, you will also find that some of the sites
that have broken the rules and have been caught, have resulted in
law suits. Cover your tracks and make sure that you are following
the rules that are set by that company for the best results.
Look for affiliate marketing software that fits your needs and will
help you keep everything straight so you do not have to worry about
keeping track of everything yourself. Or, even better yet, create a
spreadsheet of your own, turn that into a saleable product and start
your own affiliate program. Now, that's where the real money is at in
affiliate marketing. With your own product, you get people doing the
selling for you, and can make your own rules.
Do cloak your links in some way. If you use frames, be sure the
program allows that and will still pay you your commissions, as
some don't allow 'framed' cloaking links. Ask first or your link
will not get credited and you won't get paid.
Of course, this goes without saying, never use spam. And be sure
to check if safelist advertising is allowed as sometimes it is not.
There are many varied rules, about as many as there are programs.
So, probably the most important rule of all, is to READ THE RULES.
Don't simply click those "I Agree" links to save time. Understand
all the guidelines before you promote as you could save yourself
some real financial heartache.
