Everybody doing great? I hope so.
Looks like another year my spearing trip down
the river won't happen. With the last rain
the river is muddy again and this is the
last weekend of the season. I like to get
a few fish and stick them in the smoker.
VERY tasty eating. Seems everytime the river
is just about clear enough to see with the
lanterns it rains again. We go at night out
of a boat. Lots of fun.
Oh well, I did watch a new born fawn go
awkwardly walking thru the yard today with
mommy. Cute little rascals. I love living
in the country, secluded from neighbors and
noisy traffic. Sometimes it's a hassle, but
the sites are more than worth it.
If you write and I don't get back right away
it's because I'm off line. After trying all I
can think of, it seems a complete wipeout and
reinstall is in order. I can not get this machine
to run right anymore. Little things, like closing
a page and everything closing out. Try to highlite
a line, it won't!
I've had enough, time for drastic action. As much
as I don't want to, it needs to be done. Not that I
can't, but I hate doing it. It's the time. Back up
everything, then start all the update downloads. Ugg!
Well, enough whinning. You've got things to do,
so have I, so let's get moving on.

Beware Of Sales Page Scams

With the internet chocked full of ways to make money it is very important to ensure that you are actually working on a legitimate
way to make money yourself. There are a ton of scams that are
abounding on the internet and if you are not careful, you can
find yourself the victim of these scams and left out entirely in
the cold. In order to really combat these problems it is critical
to know exactly what you are looking for and be positively sure
that you can actually make some money.
The one problem that most people tend to overlook is the sales
pages that they are reading. If you are unsure what you are looking
at, a sales page can be a really scary, exciting and alluring piece
of reading. The whole point is to have you ready and willing to whip
out a credit card and start signing up for everything that you read.
However, while you are reading these sales pages there should be
some key information present before you are reaching for your credit
card. Without this valuable information you could find yourself out
your money and with nothing to really show for it as well.
Your first step is to look over the sales letter, this means looking
over all of it. While many of them are longer than some of the
biggest textbooks, you should still understand exactly what it says.
You should notice that while you are reading it the sales letter
should tell you exactly what you are getting, and also exactly how
much you can expect to pay. For example, if you are obtaining your
private label rights products from a membership site you should be
told upfront what you can expect the site to give you. Of course,
they are not going to tell you exactly what they have available,
but you should be able to at least come up with a few good ideas
such as 100 website templates are included along with 1000 eBooks.
On the other hand if the sales page simply says that website templates
and eBooks are included you could find yourself paying top dollar to
only receive two templates and two eBooks. This would after all be
technically and legally acceptable with what they offer you based upon
their sales information. However, as most people can agree paying a
large amount of money for only two templates and two eBooks is not
acceptable.
You should also look for very clear terms about payment, refunds, and satisfaction guarantees. Many places will not offer a guarantee giving
you the money back if you are not satisfied. This is just as much to
protect them as it is to protect you. However, as long as you are willing
to really look over the details you can typically find someone to work
with that does look after your personal interests as well. For example,
this means looking for a site that will clearly tell you what the upfront charges are, as well as all monthly charges.
Remember, if there are details and information missing from the sales
page this should be a signal of problems. If someone is actually providing
a useful and satisfactory product they are not going to need to hide or
lie about anything.
Look for contact information, a FAQ (frequently asked questions) page,
TOS (terms of service), Policy, Privacy and other types of information.
Believe it or not, read and be sure you understand what these say as
some sites actually tell you they have the right to use/sell your name
and other personal information.
Don't assume those testimonials you read are true. Many times they are
made up or condensed leaving out the real details of what was said.
They are afterall done by the promoter to entice you into buying.
One more thing to watch out for, is those offers to give you your own
free website. While they will give you one, but only after you sign up
and find out you have to pay for a hosting account at way more than
you need to. Also be sure you can make changes and additions to your
new site. You don't want the exact same thing as dozens or even hundreds
of others.
Free is nice, but it's not always really free nor any good without you
having control.
Be smart, investigate first and if you still get scammed, well, it does
happens to all of us. But usually that little voice inside us gave the
warning and we knew better to begin with but took a chance anyway.
The trick is to learn what to watch for and react accordingly. That ages
old saying...if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
