Helpful Tips For Getting Repeat Traffic

* Update the pages on your website/blog frequently. Stagnant sites are
apt to be dropped by some search engines. You can even put a date
counter on the page to show when it was last updated.
* Offer additional value on your website. For affiliates and partners
you could place links to their sites and products and ask them to do
the same for you. You can also advertise their books or videos, but
only if these products relate to your industry and are not in direct
competition with your own product.
* You can allow customers to ‘opt in’ to get discounts and special
offers. Place a link on your site to invite customers to ‘opt in’ to
get your newsletter, product update messages or valuable coupons.
Create a free membership area and offer member discounts on your
products for joining your site. Beleive it or not, free membership
sites do earn alot of money this way.
* Add a link to your primary page with a ‘Book Mark' or 'Add this site
to your Favorites’ script.
* Add a ‘Recommend this site to a Friend’ link so that your visitors
can email your website link, with a prewritten title, “Thought you
might be interested in this”, just by clicking on it. Or add a form for them to fill in their friends' names. Be sure they double opt-in to
your list before mailing to them, a friend's input doesn't make it legal.
* Brand your website so that visitors always know they are on your
site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a
‘Contact Us’ link on each page. Be sure to use a site map on every
page to make your site user friendly as well as helping out the search
engines crawl your site and index your pages.
* Create a ‘Our Policies’ page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles in dealing with your customers. Also post your privacy policy
as well so that clients know they are secure when they visit your site.
Be sure to state what you allow or don't allow in using any graphic
images, text displayed or affiliate conduct, such as a 'no spam' policy. When people have a clear idea of what you expect they are more apt
to do business with you on a more professional level. Grpahics you may have the right to use doesn't qualify eveyone else to use them.
* Create a FAQ page which addresses most of the doubts and commonly
asked questions. Be very clear and use everyday language so anyone
can understand and made more aware of what your product or your
company is about. This helps to resolve most of the customers doubts
and any misconceptions they may have right in the beginning during
their first visit to your site. Don't use any misleading or hyped up statements to impress them, it only works against you.
* Ensure that each page on your website have the appropriate titles and keywords so that your customer can find their way back to your site if
they lose the book mark. The wrong title and keywords in the search
engine listings means they won't find their way back to your site using
a search.
* Never spam a client, who has opted for newsletters, with unsolicited emails. You need to inform them they may also get additional mailings
not directly related to your newsletter, and tell them at what frequency
they should expect to hear from you. Later if they decide they want to
‘opt out’ of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them
off the mailing list. They may still come back at a later time, but they
will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box
with messages they no longer wish to receive. If you have multiple lists
be sure they can ‘opt out’ of any individual list or all of them.
* Always be working on your list by keeping it up to date. Track those
'bounced' emails and delete them. Addresses that are not real, always
seem to be full and those not correctly formated will bounce and the
first thing you know none of your messages get through because ISP's
list you as a 'spammer', you end up on their blacklist and your whole
list becomes useless. So it's not always the ISP's fault they block your email, you did so yourself by being lazy.
* And I don't care what you've been sold or told by anyone....
lazy doesn't make money.
