'Welcome' Everyone.

Hope you are all healthy, and wealthier than the
Tax Man knows about!

I keep waiting for the day when our paycheck goes
there first, and 'they' give us what 'they' think
we need to live.

Can't get away from taxes, so we just need to work
smarter, not harder. If what you do online isn't
working very well, then you must change and start
re-looking over your plan. If you don't have a plan,
then that's your biggest problem.

Take the time to make one. Write it out, keep it
out so you can see it, follow it and as soon as you
see something isn't giving you a return, modify it.

Along with your plan, create a list of your goals
and stick with it until you meet them.

I know, it all sounds dumb, and I used to think I
could just keep it all in my head, why waste time
on a plan? Big mistake, and costly. But I learned
jotting things down was more reliable than my little
pea brain. It holds true for everyone, from Bill Gates
to your local news cast. Why do speakers use a
podium? To hold their notes, that's why. They PLAN
their speech out, just like your minister for the
Sunday service, even if they so-called memorized it.

Persistance, not luck, is how you get into profit.
Work ON your business, not IN it. Everyday, do at
least one thing for your business, even if it's a
small thing.

Tweak your web content, add a product, just DO some
little thing. Learn to track what you change, too.
Track all your links even if just selling Clickbank
products, they show you how to do that on the site
by adding a code to your link, use it.

The biggest mistake most people make is running out
of time by checking their e-mail BEFORE they do any
positive work on their business. I've said it before
but those e-mails will still be there when you've
finished what's most important - Your Business!
If they start to build up, just dump them. Trust me
on this, you won't miss a darn thing.

Especially now days, everybody and their brother
wants to send you to a video, you don't have time
for them, I don't have time for them, but they work
for the guru because it's that much more time they
get you away from your business and only decreases
their competition, that's you my friends.

When is the last time a 'nobody' said video is the
only way to go? Have you got a staff? Can you hire
it done for you? Have you the time to create video
ads and websites? And who has the time to watch
all of them?

Don't take me wrong, video is great for learning, but
for an ad just to talk about nothing constructive, how
they were broke but now rich, to show a fake payment
page? Waste of my time and I click away fast when I
read an e-mail that says 'go watch this' short 20
minute video on why you need a list. It's B.S. and
a big time waster, folks.

Be very selective, try running your business instead
of letting it run you. Unless, you like slowly going
further in debt and wonder what the heck is going on
and why others get rich while you are going broke.

The only real secret has just been told to you.

If you keep on doing what isn't working, quit, go
watch T.V. because you'll be just as broke 5 years
from now as you are today. Want to just play? Join
a bowling team. Want to make money? Earn it! Work
for it! Go after it! And oh, Manifest it? Right,
hold your hand out, open, palm up as long as you
can, what's in it? Nothing. And always will be empty
until you physically 'grab' something.

The last newsletter covered Page Titles and Improving Your Search
Engine Rankings.

In this issue we end this topic by talking about Getting Repeat
Visitors and a short Summary.

Getting Repeat Visitors to your website takes some more effort
on top of the work to get them to your site the first time.

When people first visit your website chances are very likely that
most of them will leave within the first ten seconds, never to
return again.

The worst part about this is they leave without buying anything.
They don't even take the time to leave you a name or email
address, so you have no idea how to reach them again.

Let's go over some simple tips that you can use to get people to
come back to your website repeatedly.

- Update the pages on your website frequently.

Stagnant sites are dropped by some search engines.
You can even put a date counter on the page to
show when it was last updated.

A simple code can do this very easily, such as this:

* Codes like this are free all over the Internet.

- Offer additional value on your website.

For affiliates and partners you can place links
to their sites and products and ask them to do
the same for you.

You can also advertise their books or videos,
if these products relate to your website theme
and are not in competition with your own product.

- Allow visitors to 'opt in' to get special offers.

Place a link on your site to invite visitors to
'opt in' to get a monthly newsletter, or valuable
coupons, or special discounts, etc. Run a contest
with prizes, create a drawing to give away a good
software tool or ebook to one lucky subscriber
each week. Provide a place for placing free
classified ads such as the one I use that looks
like this:

* It's free, and they may still be uploading it
for you for free, you'd have to check that out.

Try using polls, add a forum and include videos
where you can. The point being making your site
interesting enough to keep people there. The more
you give them something to do, the longer you can
keep their attention, the better it is for you
and your business!

That's called making your site 'sticky', the key
is to give them something to do and a reason to
come back.

- Book Mark this site script.

Add a link to your primary page with a script
'Book Mark or Add this site to your Favorites'.

- Show this to a friend script.

Add a link 'Recommend this site to a Friend' so
that the visitor can email your website link,
with a pre written title,
"Thought you might be interested in this",
just by clicking on it.

- Promote yourself.

Brand your website so that visitors always know
they are on your site. Use consistent colors,
logos and slogans and always provide a 'Contact Us'
link on each page.

- Create a 'Our Policies' page that clearly defines
your philosophy and principles in dealing with your
customers. Also post your privacy policy as well so
that clients know they are secure when they visit
your site.

- Add an FAQ page.

Create a FAQ page which addresses most of the doubts
and clarifications about your product or your company
that are likely to be asked. This helps to resolve
most of the customers doubts in their first visit
to your site.

If a FAQ page doesn't really fit into your type of site,
make an 'About Us' page instead. Doesn't have to be
very long, just describe yourself, add a photo if you
can, and include general things such as how long you
have been on line, a brief background or what you wish
to accomplish thru your site. Keep it short and simple,
nobody cares where you went to grade school.

- Titles and keywords.

Ensure that each page on your website has appropriate
titles and keywords so that your customer can find
their way back to your site if they lose the bookmark.

- Never spam.

Never send a visitor who has opted for your ezine
or newsletters with unsolicited emails. And if they
decide they want to 'opt out' of the mailings, be
sure you honor their request and take them off
the mailing list.

Of course, be sure you keep a record of their sign
up email notice for proof and be aware that they
may have opted in to more than one list. At times,
they may want off your list but only unsubscribe
from one, which doesn't automatically take them off
every list they are on. Use an autoresponder that
shows them each list they are on, and I create an
extra email address with a link to unsubscribe as
an extra way for them to do that.

- Use a site map!

If your visitor can quickly find what they were
searching for you have a much greater chance at
making the sale and a higher percentage of first
time visitors leaving happy will return.

By taking the time to design your web pages so
that your visitors will want to click around for
a while and get to know you, the more times you
can get them to come back.

Summary of Your Optimization Plan!

Actually, we don't need a summary of everything that's been covered.
It can all be read in the newsletter archives, so I decided to go over
and review some easy ways that you can optimize your website to
generate a good flow of free traffic to your site from the search
engines.

Some of this was mentioned before but here are the basic steps you
need to optimize your website to get additional traffic from the search
engines. One of the most important aspects of having a successful
website is how you are generating traffic.

Without traffic it is impossible to achieve the success that you need
and desire. Therefore, it's important to evaluate how you are going to
generate high traffic volume.

If you have been involved in any type of internet business chances are
that you're aware of how much time, money and effort that you have to
devote to getting traffic to your website.

Optimizing your website means you have to transform the content of your
site to a much smaller and streamlined form while maintaining the way
you want your website to look.

Optimizing your website can sometimes seem overwhelming, technical and
complicated. But here are some tips to easily help you get started...

- Know your target visitors.

You need to figure out what search phrases your potential
customers use so they can find your site. Think of some
ideas that your visitors will type about your website,
what term i.e. keyword or phrase that someone might
type in to do a search that would point to your website.

- Define a particular niche.

You are certainly going to cover a very broad topic.
The rule of the thumb is to optimize your pages with
the best keywords. Your keyword should be direct
enough so your visitor can immediately find your site.

- Pay close to your title tags.

The title tag is very important since search engines
look for title text when they are going to index the page.

For those who don't know, a title tag describes a
particular page of your site. They are actually HTML
tags that contains text.

When you use a title tag, make sure that it accurately
describes the content of your page.

For instance, if the content on your page is all about
Bass fishing, then the title tag should contain the words
"Bass Fishing". Always place your keywords in the title
tag. This way any topic related to your page will be
easier to find. Bass fishing would be a broad term in
that your content could cover Large Mouth Bass,
Smallmouth or Stripped Bass.

However, by the same token, it would be better to
have a seperate page for each type of Bass fishing,
as the methods to catch them differ between species
and you will get a more targeted visitor to each page.

This may describe targeted traffic better, say a
person lives in an area where they go Stripped Bass
fishing but are not after Largemouth - they don't like
or have Largemouth in their particular area, whatever
the reason, but if they find your website page simply
by the keywords "Bass Fishing", which is the first
topic in your content, and even though further down
on the page you include Stripped bass, that visitor
probably won't look beyond your Largemouth content.
They click away and are gone forever.

To fix that, your page at the very top, the beginning
as in the first thing they would see is a link (photo)
to all 3 types of fish pointing to the appropiate page
covering 'what they want'. In that way, not only do
you get targeted visitors for the keywords "Bass Fishing"
but also for your page on "Stripped Bass Fishing".

Make all 3 pages interlink with each other and you'll
get more visitors and happier visitors because some
may fish for 2 or all 3 species.

- Analyze your keywords.

You can use a good keyword analyzer tool. One of the
most popular is Google's Keyword Selection Tool at:

MSN has a great tool you should consider using. You type
in your keyword and get back a value telling you if your
keywords are best for a 'buying' search, or best for just
'information' seekers.

This tool detects customer intent to acquire information
or to purchase products. The value ranges from 0 to 1.
Just multiply that value times 100 to get the probability
that the keywords are (or aren't) good for selling a product.

So for the example, "Bass Fishing", it returned this value:
Non-Commercial Intention 0.62

What does that mean? A 62% chance the searcher isn't looking
to buy, but wants 'information'. If it had come back with a
Commercial Intention 0.62, then it's a 62% chance the
searcher is looking to 'buy'.

"Bass Fishing Boats" returnd a Commercial Intention 0.59
or a 59% chance that searcher wants to 'buy'.

If you use Pay Per Click advertising it could save you money
by using keywords used more by buyers than one with a higher
percentage of 'info seeking' keywords. But it can also tell
you that your keyword though more a Non-Commercial
Intention value, could cost you less per bid to rank high
and be on the first page. You might pay more for those info
seekers, but get higher click thru and make enough sales
to offset the difference.

In other words, a highly competitive keyword of say like
'web hosting sites' costing $10.00 a click, you might get
a lower bid price for something like 'are websites needed'
at less than a dollar. I don't know those actual cost, but
you get the idea, especially if you use a 'review' site.
Those are for selling as well as informational, it's why
they work so well.

It's also a good tool for helping your AdSense revenue by
using keywords that are more commercial than informational
because your sales could go up on your Adsense clicks, and
in turn Google might rank your site better because after
all, they are in it for the money, too.

- Always consider your keyword density.

This is one way to optimize your webpage. As a rule of
thumb, keyword phrases should appear at a density rate
of between 3% - 7% in the content on your page. Testing
will determine the optimum density for your pages.

- Place your keyword in your page headline.

When search engines scan your site they rate the text
in your headline. So when you are creating the content
for your site you should always place your main keyword
in your page headline. Sometimes referred to as your H1
tag, and use an H2 tag including your topic as well.

An H1 tag is simple your headline, usually larger in
size and often in color, your H2 would be your next or
a second headline, smaller in size but larger than the
rest of your content (article).

These are some very simple ways that you can optimize your website.
If you follow them then you will see your sites search engine rankings
improve steadily over time.

As always, you need to test and tweak every change you make to your
site to determine the effectiveness of any changes. Track your links
using tracking codes, and check your website stats continuously.

Really, just one small change can mean the difference between a
profitable, high traffic site and a 'make no money' dead site.
