'Welcome' Everyone.
Sure nice to have it start warming up a little.
Soooo tired of winters cold and snowy weather.
Mostly because it's so easy to gain weight and
get out of shape. Makes ya lazy as an old pet
hound dog.
At least there is a bright spot, Spring is on
it's way, I saw 2 robins this morning, but also
know there is still bad weather to come yet.
Did you get enough emails about Ewen Chia and
PPC Classroom? You can tell things are getting
bad by the number of hucksters pushing it over
and over again.
Well, get ready for more full email boxes next
week as Jeremy Burns' Source Code Gold Mine v8
starts the rounds next Tuesday.
Nope, I won't be promoting that one either, but
am sure I'll be deleting a few more of the list
I'm on for over-blasting me again. I don't mind
getting info on things that may help me out, but
when all they push is high end products they are
just an affiliate for, it's good-bye Slick.
I hope you don't treat your customers that way!
It's getting so I don't like this marketing stuff
much any more, too many emails, all the same old
promises with no real usable information.
Try not to get suckered in, is all I can say.
Besides, chashing all those products will get you
nowhere but broke.
Some of the promoters do use the products themselves
although my experience has shown it's sorta like
buying a magazine on stocks, by the time you get the
'hot tip' the window has already closed and the money
is going the other way. Things do move fast on the web.
Be cautious of what you buy and be sure it's something
you CAN and WILL use, otherwise you are losing money
not making it. If you are unsure, or suspect it is
not a complete product set up so you get all you
need to make it work, ask about it first before you
buy. Don't get a satisfactory answer then move on.

SEO And Traffic Basics For Your Business
(Page Titles and Improving Your Search Engine Rankings)

In the last newsletter an overview of Reciprocal Link Building
and Monitoring Your Website were covered.
In this issue we are going to talk about using keywords in your
Page Titles and Improving Your Search Engine Rankings.
Page Titles! If you want to achieve good search engine rankings you
must use your keywords and keywords phrases effectively. But did you
know that it is important to use your keyword in the Page Titles
itself?
When you are optimizing your pages keep in mind that the title tag is different from a Meta tag, but it's important to consider it as a part
of your SEO strategy.
The text you place in the title tag (between the <title> and </title> portions) will appear in the title bar of browsers when visitors view
the page.
The actual text you use in the title tag is one of the most important factors in how a search engine may decide to rank your web page.
In addition, all major web crawlers will use the text of your title
tag as the text they use for the title of your page in your listings.
If you have designed your website as a series of websites or linked
pages (and not just a single home page) you must keep in mind that
each page of your website must be search engine optimized.
The title of each page, ie. the keywords you use on that page and
the phrases you use in the content, will draw traffic to your site.
(Just don't rely on that factor as your sole means of getting traffic).
The unique combination of these words and phrases and content will
draw customers using different search engine terms and techniques,
so be sure you capture all the keywords and phrases you need for
each product, service or information page.
Also, any PPC (Adwords etc.) advertising you do be sure to include
those same keywords in your ad and use only those keywords to bid
on. You need to make everything fluent, match and be relevant to
each other in order to make the most of your PPC campaigne. You
will rank higher and your cost will be much lower!
The most common mistake made by website owners when they first
design their website is they place their business name in every
title of every page.
Most of your prospective customers will not know the name of your
business until after they have looked at your site and decided it
is worth book marking.
So, while you may want your business name in the title of the home
page, it is probably a waste of valuable keywords and space to put
it in the title line of every page on your site.
Consider putting keywords in the title so that your page will display closer to the top of the search engine listing.
Avoiding the stop words such as 'and', 'at' and the like in the first
three keyword positions in your title is crucial in search engine
optimization.
Another good tip is to keep the title tag less than 64 characters
long and do your best to ensure that the title tag and your meta description are interesting, meaningful, and relevant to your site.
OK, now let's go over simple rules you can follow for -
Improving Your Search Engine Rankings.
These rules will benefit you regardless of whether you're just starting with a new site or if your existing website is not ranked well for your
chosen keywords.
First of all it is important to concentrate on the home page of your
site and then once you learn the following rules, you will be able to
apply them to the other pages of your site so that you can have
multiple high ranking pages.
Let's go over some of the basic principles to achieving good rankings
in the search engines.
- Create a site with valuable content, products or services.
- Place primary and secondary keywords within the first 25
words in your page content and spread them evenly throughout
the page.
- Research and use the right keywords and phrases to
attract targeted visitors.
- Use your keywords in the right fields and references
within your pages. Like your title tags, meta tags, top
heading and even in the alt tags of images.
- Keep your site design simple so that your customers
can navigate easily between web pages, find what they
want and buy products and services.
- Submit all your web pages and not just your home page
to popular search engines and directories.
- Keep track of changes in search engine algorithms
and accordingly modify your web pages so your search
engine ranking remains high. Use online tools and
programs to keep track of how your website is doing.
- Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites
to see what they are doing right in the way of design,
navigation, content, keywords, etc.
- Use reports and logs from your web hosting to see
where your traffic is coming from. Analyze your visitor
location and their incoming sources to determine the
keywords they used to find you.
- Give your visitors plenty of ways to remember you,
like newsletters, free reports, rewards, gifts,
coupons and discounts, etc.
- Exploit your expertise by writing and submitting
articles for your website or products.
Keep these simple rules in mind every time you work on your existing
site or start a new site. If you spend a few days of preparation up
front it will pay off in the long run with better search engine
rankings and traffic.
It's all really a fairly simple task, so don't make it any harder than necessary. Many gurus and ebook sellers try to make you think it's
all but impossible without buying their information...NOT SO.
Save your time and money, if you really want to read and get ahead,
the best advice I can give you is to learn how to write HTML so
you can make your own website pages.
You do not need be a graphic artist, a prolific long winded writer
(keep it short and to the point as people don't want to read for
hours, they want quick info and action-so give it to them) or use
tons of banners and hour long videos.
Keep it simple, make your tags relevant to the content on your
page, and one more tip, leave the fancy flash stuff off and make
your page load as fast as possible.

Getting Repeat Visitors and a short summary of what has
been presented previously. I'm working on another series
of info promoting physical products, not just e-books.
